My girlfriend’s laptop has some issue where the screen doesn’t get video anymore. The touch screen still works even, but just no picture. It was too cheap to be worth it to get repaired, so I’ve just plugged it into the TV, hidden it under the stereo cabinet, and got this keyboard/trackpad combo for it. I’m pretty pleased for $60 plus a spare HDMI cord I had lying around. Also, instead of hooking my phone up for non-vinyl music playing, I can use it to play songs on Spotify on the laptop, so music can be on with no auxiliary cable hanging out on top of the stereo, and without the TV on. This whole being unemployed thing is making me productive around the house.

What TV if you don’t mind? Lloyd knocked over my (3 week old) Bravia last week and it’s a goner. So I’m suddenly in the market again.

This one
It’s currently on sale for $130 less than I bought it for last year, already on sale for Boxing Day.
It’s a pretty great TV, the Netflix app works really well, the YouTube app will freeze from time to time, but not enough to really be a problem. It’s best feature would have to be the remote with a keyboard on the back.

I highly recommend installing Kodi (I hear Plex is also very good), it’s an awesome media center manager. Also great for streaming stuff. I have been using it for a few years now with an old PC, and dumped cable because of it.

Vizio? I’m a little sour on them. Before Xmas I bought a 60" that had a bad tuner out of the box.
My local BB has an open box though. It’s worth looking at.

Per your other comment, I have been using this exact same TV as my main computer monitor for just over a year and I love it. I have it set up to work as 4 virtual 1080p monitors.

It’s great for being able to see full scale building plans on one screen.
